Spring is here, time to sow

Spring is upon us. It’s been a slow start with some small frost remaining some mornings, but these next couple of days will be warm enough to sow and finalising the preparation of our raised garden beds and rows of soil for sowing seeds. Ben and I purchased a bundle of seeds to sow vegetables, fruits, herbs and native edible bushes on our acreage. Tick season is here

It’s spring time and the ticks are out in force. Our mother in laws horse had ticks crawl up his penis and swell so much he was having issues urinating. I’ve pulled ticks of the cat and the dogs have still been ok thankfully to the tick repellent tablets we give them regularly. Our little boy Hunter, our little farm baby, was unwell 2 nights ago. I though he felt hot and when I checked him he had temperatures around 38.6. He had no other symptoms. Watering the plants

Today we pondered around the gardens and trees, checking the progress of everything. Our Lilly pillies look to be still travelling wel and have spruced up after water and Seasol. We watered them again today gently. I have to keep an eye on Hunters watering skills as he likes to force the hose spout into the soil and make to one big mud pie feast. The greenhouse has still got broccoli and cauliflowers growing. They both are producing smaller vegetables but I’m putting it down to my rookie skills and needed to space everything more.
