Today we pondered around the gardens and trees, checking the progress of everything.
Our Lilly pillies look to be still travelling wel and have spruced up after water and Seasol. We watered them again today gently. I have to keep an eye on Hunters watering skills as he likes to force the hose spout into the soil and make to one big mud pie feast.
The greenhouse has still got broccoli and cauliflowers growing. They both are producing smaller vegetables but I’m putting it down to my rookie skills and needed to space everything more. Allowing more room allows more apace to grow, less competition for food and water and also makes it easier to control the slug and moth issues.
We try to water our vegetables, plants, trees that are small or producing food every 2-3 days. I keep an eye on the weather and soil to make sure the plants don’t stay dried out for too long. There’s always a fine line between healthy watering and giving a plant root rot.
Don’t get disheartened though when something goes wrong or rots, everything is a learning kerb for the next time around.
Our broccoli and cauliflower out in the open aor are actually still going strong and controlled. Little vegetable heads have begun appearing.
Hoping to pick our carrots from the greenhouse within the next two weeks hopefully. Hunter loves his carrots. More watering and fertilising tomorrow.
