Family Chickens

Today we added 5 Hyline brown hens to our chicken coop. These girls will be ready to lay eggs in 3 weeks.

Hunter was stoked to play with them as we set them up with scratch layer feed, veggie scraps, water and saw dust filled layer boxes.

There’s nothing better than seeing your baby boy excited to be outdoors, hanging with the chooks and fearless.

Most of our days are spent running around, playing outdoors, chasing the kelpie pups, patting the cat, watching the bird life, watering the veggie patch, gardening and enjoying the sunshine.

Hunter likes to protest if we are inside too long. I can’t complain, it’s a great thing to be outside, loving life.

Not long to wait until we can collect some tasty eggs for breakfast. Next task is to find a rooster so that we can eventually have some baby chicks amongst our group.
